The space
Oceanfront LUXURY vacation home on the rugged southwest coast of Vancouver Island. Overlooking the ocean and mountains, our home gives easy access to wonderful beaches and spectacular old growth forest. This friendly area is a treat for nature lovers and is the perfect place for exciting activities or deep relaxation. There are 2 bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with a king bed as well as a sofa bed in the living room. Fully equipped kitchen with a gas range, Satellite TV with Netflix, gas fireplace and bluetooth speaker. Enjoy the propane fire table and gas BBQ on the balcony where you'll want to spend hours looking out at the spectacular ocean and mountain views.

Other things to note
This area is popular for fishing, cycling and hiking. Surfing, paddle boarding and kayaking down the Gordon River is very popular. So many places to go hiking and exploring including the gorgeous Botanical Beach and the old growth of Avatar Grove. Take a 10 minute drive to Fairy Lake and another 15 minutes toLizard Lake and enjoy floating on an air mattress or a dip in the lake to cool off in the heat of the summer months. Check out the entrance to the West Coast and Juan d'Fuca Trails. Take a 5 minute stroll to the new Gateway marina. Other amenities are the Port Renfrew Pub, the Coastal Kitchen (open seasonally) and Tomi's Cafe (great coffee, breakfast and lunch) at the foot of Baird Road.

<u><strong>Arriving from Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal</strong></u>
Drive off the ferry and take highway 17A into Victoria, then to Sooke.
Exit #7 McKenzie Ave and then take Trans Canada Highway.1/Nanaimo.
Follow signs to Sooke then Port Renfrew.
Once you arrive in Port Renfrew, you’re on Parkinson Road…you’ll see Tomi’s cafe on the right…take the next right onto Baird Road.
Turn left immediately into West Coast Cottages and continue up the hill to the top, keep right, into the new development.
The drive from the ferry is just over 2 hours.
Directions from Victoria: Head North on the Trans Canada Highway 1. Follow the signs on the highway to Sooke. From Sooke to Port Renfrew takes about an hour. Once you arrive in Port Renfrew you will be on Parkinson Road. Just past Tomi's Cafe is Baird Road. Take a right and then an immediate left into the Wild Coast Cottages. Keep to your right all the way to the top of the hill. #228 Coastal Comfort is the second fourplex cottage on the water side. Park right in front of the cottage.
<u><strong>Directions from Nanaimo</strong></u><strong>:</strong> Head south on Trans Canada Highway. Drive past Ladysmith and Chemanis. Before Duncan, turn right on Highway 18 (Herd Road) to Lake Cowichan. It's about a 30 minute drive to Lake Cowichan. Drive another 5 km to Mesachie Lake. Look for the sign that says Port Renfrew and turn left. It takes about 1 hour to drive to Port Renfrew. Turn left at the Port Renfrew sign, over the bridge and to the stop sign. Turn right on Parkinson Road. Just past Tomi's Cafe is Baird Road. Take a right and then an immediate left into the Wild Coast Cottages. The view is so beautiful and the place was well stocked it’s the best Airbnb I’ve stayed in by far there were so many thoughtful touches. It felt like a home away from home and the neighbourhood was friendly, and welcoming, it was so peaceful we will definitely stay again thank you Lynda for an amazing stay.

With our daughter and her husband, my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our four days in the cottage. It was stocked with everything you could need and more. This beautifully decorated and homey cottage was a relaxing location to take in the wild west coast. With a propane stove and gas fireplace, we were warm and cozy and able to prepare our meals even when a winter storm knocked out power for a few hours. We highly recommend this property.

The property literally checked all the boxes...We had an incredible stay. The hosts had everything we needed and more. We took in some of the nearby sites which were pretty amazing and just chilled and relaxed on the balcony watching the fishing boats, listening to the waves, and enjoyed the view. Lynda’s place was perfect for the four of us. Great location next to the Marina. Her place is well stocked with everything you need and is comfortable. Awesome view of the bay and we had the pleasure of watching a thunder and lightning storm while there.

Beautiful home, incredible view, great location. I can’t say enough about how wonderful this spot is. The fire table overlooking the ocean, sunset every night. Life doesn’t get better than that

The cottage was very clean and tidy, and all of the appliances worked well, and the view from the balcony was AMAZING. The bedrooms were nice with sizeable beds. Also Lynda is very responsive. Never waited longer than 10mins for a reply. Would gladly recommend staying here. One thing to note is that the wifi isn't the best. If there are multiple users then it can get slow at times. Wouldn't recommend trying to work remotely from here if you have a lot of video calls.

Everything was great! Very well stocked from the kitchen to extra towels in the bathroom. Very clean and beautifully decorated. Felt very comfortable.

Lynda and Bryan have done an amazing job outfitting the unit. The view is spectacular and the area offers some amazing hiking opportunities. We will definitely be back at some point.

“What an amazing place. Lynda did a beautiful job decorating this amazing cozy cabin. The views from the deck are amazing. The weather was not the best during our trip and the power was out for 15 hours but this never stopped us from enjoying our stay. You just resort to plan B plus you come here to disengage from technology and embrace nature. Do yourself a favour and stay at Lyndas place and you won’t be disappointed.”

What a lovely unit. Great view, bed, well outfitted kitchen, nice decor...very comfortable. Quick replies & good communication.. There are units in this complex that are one upper & one lower unit... this is all single floor, easy access & with 1 neighbour, but patio is completely private. Fireplace table we never used, but that was a feature for us that helped decide originally. Good BBQ Highly recommend
